Cormed Clinic officially opened its doors in October 1992 and established itself as one of the leading private hospitals in the region over the years. Cormed is a private company with its shareholders and directors. Cormed is the brainchild of Dr. Corrie Lategan. He and several shareholders’ financing led to the establishment and management of the clinic.

Dr. Corrie’s son, Dr. Pieter Lategan later took over the management. He, in turn, faced further challenges and development and grew Cormed as a within-limits, high-average clinic with high expectations and prospects. The clinic originally started as a day clinic but is now registered as a hospital with an obstetrician as well as a high-care unit. The clinic also offers medical, general surgery and after-hours consultation service.

The clinic also has access to an X-ray department, laboratory, physiotherapist, pharmacy and Corcafé Coffee Shop. Several doctors also established their consultation rooms in and near the hospital. Cormed has well-qualified and friendly nurses, admin and housekeeping staff with dedicated service who take care of every patient who visits the clinic.

Cormed strives to provide a personal service to the public. They provide care and support to all patients who use their services. Every patient’s needs are taken care of. “Jessica’s Wall of life” can also be found at Cormed. This project is for moms who are not in the position to care for a newborn baby. The baby can be left in the available sheltered space, after which the childcare unit will find a new home for them.
