Access Esperanza Clinics
Members of the First United Methodist Church in Mission, Texas founded our agency in 1964. Their purpose was to improve the quality of life for people with limited incomes by helping women plan and space pregnancies. We continue their legacy of building strong, healthy communities with four full-time and two part-time clinics located throughout Hidalgo County. Over 90 percent of our patients meet income guidelines for free or low-cost services, and for many, we are their only healthcare provider.
Our services offer patients opportunities and hope for brighter, healthier futures. Women who are able to prevent unplanned pregnancies have safer birth, are healthier, have healthier children, stay in school longer, and earn more. When pregnancies are planned, the risk of family violence is less, and dads are more likely to be involved in the children’s lives.
Prevention works! When women can access family planning services, the entire community benefits when. Every $1 invested in public family planning programs like ours saves taxpayers over $7 in Medicaid prenatal and birth costs.
Access Esperanza Clinics Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Funding comes from the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, the Department of State Health Services, and the federal Title X family planning program. Private donations and foundations also fund patient services and educational programs.
At Access Esperanza Clinics, we offer opportunities and hope for people to plan their futures and stay healthy. You can count on us for quality, affordable, and confidential care at all of our health clinics.
